The art room is all cleaned, organized, and packed up for the summer! I spent a solid 4 days and a little extra tearing the room apart to put it back together in a more logical and organized way.
When I became the art teacher at Casey in 2018, I inherited almost two decades worth of stuff from the previous teachers. Throw in a global pandemic into that situation and let's just say it was a bit overwhelming. I found all sorts of things that I had no idea what to do with! I took a Marie Kondo approach to the situation and it was well worth it! I know exactly where everything is and how much I have of it. You name it, and I can find it in under 30 seconds. I can't explain how exciting it is to start fresh next year with a perfectly organized space. I'm working on getting a fresh coat of paint on the walls and some minor repairs done as well. I am thinking of new and fresh ideas for a strong comeback in the fall! For now, let's just let the dust of the 2020-2021 school year settle and take a deep breath, or two, or three. It was a wild and wacky year and we all (including this lovely organized space) need to take a well deserved break! Happy summer awesome artists!!
